Obsidian Guard

Products · Private beta

Choose the control boundary your Shopify operations need.

Refund Guard protects money movement. Store Guard adds inventory controls. Control Guard adds structured review for changes, bypasses, and exceptions.

01 · Protect money movement

Refund Guard

Private beta

Approve risky refunds before Shopify executes them through the protected Obsidian Guard path.

Best for: Stores that want a clear approval step before higher-risk refunds move money.

View Refund Guard

Included capabilities

  • Protected refund approvals
  • Configurable refund rules and thresholds
  • Owner or designated approver review
  • Shopify refund execution after approval where supported
  • Native refund bypass visibility where Shopify exposes the event
  • Activity history and execution outcomes
  • Email, Slack, Web Push, SMS, and WhatsApp notification options

Know the boundary

  • Shopify's native Refund button is not globally blocked.
  • Automatic execution requires the necessary Shopify permissions and supported order data.
  • A failed execution is recorded and may require manual follow-up.

02 · Protect inventory movement

Store Guard

Private beta

Hold risky orders before inventory leaves, then release fulfillment after approval.

Best for: Stores that need controls around both refunds and fulfillment decisions.

View Store Guard

Included capabilities

  • Everything in Refund Guard
  • Fulfillment hold controls
  • Release after approval
  • Approved cancellation workflows
  • Approved address-change workflows
  • Hold and release failure visibility
  • Expanded store activity and bypass visibility

Know the boundary

  • A hold depends on supported Shopify fulfillment state and valid permissions.
  • If a hold or release fails, Obsidian Guard records the outcome for follow-up.
  • Direct Shopify actions may remain possible and are detected only where Shopify exposes them.

03 · Protect operational trust

Control Guard

Private beta

Review risky post-payment changes, bypasses, and operational exceptions.

Best for: Teams that need stronger policy, separation of duties, reporting, and exception handling.

View Control Guard

Included capabilities

  • Everything in Store Guard
  • Review of address, order, discount, total, and shipping-method changes after payment
  • Post-payment change and bypass review workflows
  • Approval groups and separation of duties
  • Escalation and urgent-alert policies
  • Controlled exceptions
  • Audit export, reports, and source analytics

Know the boundary

  • Post-payment events are detected from Shopify data; detection is not universal interception.
  • Attribution is limited to the source evidence Shopify provides.
  • Notification and escalation delivery can fail and is recorded for operational follow-up.

A shared control vocabulary

Controlled

The action is routed through Obsidian Guard before execution.

Held

Fulfillment or another downstream consequence is paused before value moves.

Detected

The action happened outside the approved path and is detected where Shopify exposes the event.
